We had a fantastic and fun-filled adventure at Xplor Park in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. From Cozumel, we took a catamaran (aka. The โ€œVomit Cometโ€) to a little dock in Playa del Carmen where a bus picked us up to go to Xplor Park. For the boat ride from Cozumel to Playa del Carmen, I recommend sitting inside because it’s air conditioned. Also if you want to avoid getting seasick, head towards the lower, middle area of the catamaran.

We were traveling over the Christmas holiday and on our way to Xplor Park we saw a big Christmas tree and an owl market.ย  I thought the owl market sign was really cute.

When we arrived at Xplor Park, the first stop was checking in and getting our safety equipment. We got a fashionable helmet to wear in the park for all the activities. There are four main parts to Xplor Park: ziplining, 4-wheeling, rafting and swimming. With our short time limit, we decided to try ziplining and 4-wheeling.

First we headed to the zipline. On our way, we spotted some brightly colored parrots along the path. They were cute.

Arriving at the zipline, we had a great view over and above the trees. The ziplines start at the top of a tower and you go from the top of one tower to the bottom of the next tower, soaring above the trees. There are two seperate paths you can follow and each has multiple towers and ziplines.

After most ziplines, we had to climb a stairway to get to the next zipline. Donโ€™t worry too much about waiting, we didnโ€™t have to wait too long. We also got the choice to go together, two at a time.

The path we chose also included a waterslide in the middle of the ziplines. The waterslide spiraled down around the tower and through the jungle to drop us into an underground lake in a cave. What a great way to cool off! At the end of the last zipline, we had a water landing in another big cavern. Coming down into the water landing, I nearly lost my shoe because of the force of the landing. Good thing I was wearing my water shoes!

After ziplining, we walked up a stone ramp covered in a canopy of trees and continued to the 4-wheeling.

While on the 4-wheeler we went through some caves. The pictures are blurry because it was dark and we were going a bit too fast for my waterproof camera.

At the top of the hill on the 4-wheeling path, we got some pretty views over the trees near the zipline.

After our return from Xplor Park, we got to spend some time taking pictures on the beach in Playa del Carmen before boarding the catamaran back to Cozumel.

When we got back from Xplor Park, Playa del Carmen to Cozumel, we were just in time for a beautiful sunset to end our day. Although most of our time was spent in the comfortable shade of the forest and caves, I recommend wearing sunglasses and lots of waterproof sunscreen to protect you from the continuous intense sunshine.

Xplor Park was a lot of fun! I wish I had more time to try all the ziplines and just walk around the park to experience everything that was there. I would like to go back to finish the adventure I started in Xplor Park.
