Atlantis Submarines Barbados is a unique way to explore the charms under the Caribbean Sea. I had a very fun experience with it. It is family friendly and is fun for everyone, no matter if you snorkel or not.

The office of Atlantis Submarines Barbados is inside the Bridgetown Catamaran Port. Upon arrival, I saw a submarine displayed right outside of the office.

We boarded a catamaran that took us to the submarine. Along the way, I enjoyed the beautiful blue sky and the clear water. I think Barbados is one of the places with the most beautiful clear water.

After a short ride, the catamaran docked by the submarine. This was the first time that I saw a real functional submarine in the middle of the ocean. Very cool!

Inside of the submarine is not spacey. There are seats in the middle facing either starboard side or port side. There is a window in front of each seat, so that everyone can see outside. There is a card by each window showing the fish species that we might see under the sea. There were many visitors that day, so we couldn’t change seats once we sat down.

After a safety orientation, the submarine started to dive. I could see from the digital board by the pilot that the submarine was diving deeper and deeper. Many large fish started to swim along with us.

I saw many beautiful and colorful fish swimming near the corals. Among these fish, I especially liked the small neon blue fish. They looked like random splashes of bright blue paint in the water. I also saw a sting ray swimming by! People facing the other side were lucky to see more than one sting ray and even some turtles!

The guide told us that no two dives are the same. I’m wondering what a night dive would be like.

We strolled around the ocean floor for about an hour before the submarine returned to the surface. The next group of visitors were waiting on the catamaran while our pilot waved goodbye to us.

What a fun and unique way to explore the charms under the sea with Atlantis Submarines Barbados!
