We took a St Thomas Kayaking, Hiking, and Snorkeling Tour. This is part one of our journey.
When we first arrived at St. Thomas, we could see some of the houses on top of the hills. It was a cool and pleasant morning.
It got hotter in the day so be sure to bring sunscreen and apply it before you venture out.
We took a kayaking, hiking, and snorkeling tour with the Virgin Islands EcoTours. To be prepared, we covered ourselves with sun screen (and our camera was covered with sun screen and so were our pictures!!) and bug spray. It was not as bad as it sounds, but there were bugs. If you are a bug attracter and plan to do some activities near vegetation, be sure to bring some bug spray with you.
We rode to the Virgin Islands EcoTours and used the restrooms (not really. They were porta potties.) before we left to get onto our kayaks. There were tons of kayaks and we had choices of a two-person or one-person kayak.
The water was clear, warm, and easy to kayak through. The wind was blowing softly enough to keep me nice and cool, but not too strong to make me have to paddle hard and fight the current. I saw some mangroves along the shore along with other plants. Our guide told us that during the storms, they will bring the boats to shelter among the mangroves.
It was a little distance between the starting point to where we finally landed. After some paddling, we landed at the Cas Cay Wild Life sanctuary where we did a short hike to the blowhole.
